Part-Time Baker & Specialty Item Chef,
$17-19/hr

The Table in Downtown Overland Park is looking for a Baker/Specialty Item Chef to prepare a variety of sweets including cheesecakes, coffee cakes, brownies, cookies, truffles, etc. and quiches/frittatas to fulfill our growing number of catering orders.

 

Baker/Specialty Item Chef responsibilities include mixing dough/batters, preparing/cooking fillings, scooping dough balls and truffles, melting compound chocolate, piping tarts, baking quiches/frittatas/brownies/ cakes/cookies, garnishing/decorating finished items (truffles/tarts), etc. To be successful in this role, you should have a love for baking from scratch, making food as art, and preparing items of the utmost quality.

 

We need someone who can execute our current offerings and create new, seasonal offerings for our catering menus. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh, consistent, and delicious baked goods and specialty items to our customers each week.

 

Responsibilities

Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use

Accurately measure flour and other ingredients to prepare dough

Prepare and Bake different desserts and brunch items

Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking

Mix various ingredients to create fillings/toppings for cheesecakes, cookies, and coffee cakes (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce, and fruits)

Use your creativity to recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts)

Track food supplies and maintain inventory, as needed

 

Requirements and Skills

Love of baking and high commitment to quality

Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, etc.

Understanding of food safety practices

Ability to lift 50# bags of flour and sugar

Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time

Excellent time-management skills

Ability to work on their own

Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude

Approx. 10-20 hours/week

Serv-Safe Certified a PLUS

Professional Baking experience is a PLUS

Catering Manager, $22-25/hr

The Table in Downtown Overland Park is looking for help responding to catering requests/questions, creating estimates/invoices, organizing weekly orders, scheduling/executing deliveries, and greeting clients for pick-up orders. Our catering services have grown exponentially this year - to the point we are turning down work due to our current staff limitations.

 

The Table Catering Manager will respond to online requests for catering, answer catering questions via email/phone, generate estimates/invoices, keep the calendar up-to-date, label and organize orders for kitchen staff, bundle orders, schedule/execute deliveries, and be present for client pick-up orders. We have had to shut down our orders for the weekends due to our current staff limitations; it would be ideal if we could have someone available to expo the orders on the weekends.

 

Responsibilities

Respond to catering requests utilizing on-brand messaging

Accept catering requests based on availability and staffing needs

Generate estimates/invoices in Square

Maintain events calendar in Google

Organize weekly events and communicate with Kitchen Manager to ensure proper food ordering

Create labels and tags for each of the orders

Manage order timeline updates in Square

Reach out to clients about orders, as needed (delayed, reminders, etc.)
